What it costs

€490,000 per week + expensesSummer

Base charter fee per week: €490,000 in low season and €580,000 in high season, the same in summer and winter. Expenses are charged on top: usually an advance provisioning allowance (APA, a deposit for fuel, food and berthing), VAT and crew tips. The typical amount for Maltese Falcon isn’t published. Questions

How much does it cost to charter the Maltese Falcon?
The base rate is €490,000 a week in low season and €580,000 in high season, plus expenses, in both summer and winter (YachtCharterFleet). CharterIndex gives the same figures for summer 2026 and winter 2026/27, and Burgess lists the same range. Expenses such as fuel, food, berthing, VAT and crew tips are charged on top; the typical amount isn’t published, so the all-in cost of a week isn’t known.
Can you still charter the Maltese Falcon?
Yes. Since December 2025 her central agent for charter is Royal Yacht International, and she is marketed as “Maltese Falcon, a Jumeirah Privé Experience”, with Jumeirah providing the onboard hospitality (Royal Yacht International, 10 Dec 2025; Globetrender, 28 Jan 2026). The National describes Jumeirah access as invitation-only, but she is still listed with rates by YachtCharterFleet and CharterIndex. charter.ly is a review site and does not take bookings.
Where is the Maltese Falcon yacht now?
We don’t publish positions. Use a public AIS tracker such as VesselFinder and match the length (88 m) and build year (2006). Her usual pattern is the Mediterranean from May to September and the Caribbean from October to April (YachtCharterFleet), crossing the Atlantic twice a year (The National, May 2026).
How does the Maltese Falcon’s rig work?
The Falcon Rig, invented by Fabio Perini and Gerard Dijkstra, uses three free-standing carbon masts, each 58 m above the waterline. Fifteen square sails furl within the spars, and the sail area is about 2,400 m²; Perini Navi quotes speeds above 20 knots (Perini Navi). Boat International describes the spars as free-standing and rotating, with the sails set in about six minutes (Boat International, 2024).
How many guests can the Maltese Falcon accommodate?
Twelve guests in six cabins — a master, a VIP and four doubles — with a crew of 19 (YachtCharterFleet; Perini Navi).
How much is the Maltese Falcon worth?
There is no current published valuation. When she was sold in 2009 her asking price was €70 million, and the sale closed for close to the asking price (Boat International, 18 Aug 2009; data 2009). She changed hands again off-market in 2022 with no price reported (Boat International, March 2023).
